Harmonic Percolator
A two transistor texture machine designed by an eccentric Wisconsin engineer in the early 70’s. The Harmonic Percolator has since amassed a cult following for its unique and chaotic sound. The circuit is based around a hybrid silicon / germanium gain stage that clips. This circuit will be a great addition to your arsenal if you're a fan of the guitar tones on Radiohead’s Bodysnatchers or Nirvana’s "In Utero" . This version is true to the original with the addition of a three-way switch that selects between germanium and silicon clipping diodes.
The circuit features molded TRW and Eromak capacitors, carbon composition resistors, a 1960’s Mullard germanium transistor, and black glass Mullard germanium diodes for a sound that is true to the original.
